Our Story
Adoption is such a wonderful selfless act, and we recognize our privilege to be able to move through this process. We are grateful you are choosing to learn more about our story and journey to adoption.
Our names are Matt and Chad, and we are searching for an expectant mother interested in creating an adoption plan with a loving, supportive, and inclusive couple. We are home study approved and qualified to take placement in the event that you are ready to choose a family.
Our path to finding one another began in 2014. Like most couples these days, we met each other online. Living two hours from one another led to more than a year of pounding the highway pavement every weekend to be with one another. As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and we certainly felt that. While not always easy, this experience strengthened our love and commitment for one another early in our relationship. We fell hard and have been happily in love ever since.
We began to seriously consider adoption after moving in with one another. After getting married in front of our closest family and friends, we began making lifestyle changes to enhance our financial security and purchase our current house in preparation for this journey. We found a beautiful home in a quaint and inclusive neighborhood where we plan to stay as we grow our family.
We have the most amazing dog named Rosie. She is truly the sweetest and most loving pup we've ever met. She loves everyone she meets and is so gentle with babies and children. Many of our closest friends have babies or toddlers and it has been so fun watching Rosie share her space (and kisses) with them.
When we're not taking Rosie for walks or hanging with our friends or family, we love to explore our city's incredible food scene, local festivals, and catch a good movie. We've been fortunate to travel the globe and try to take one bigger trip every year. We can't wait to explore this big beautiful world with our future child.
About Chad
Growing up in small-town Ohio, my childhood was full of fun and family. I spent most of my weekends visiting and playing with my many cousins. Now I get to watch my closest friends as they start their own families, and I am excited that this child will grow up having “cousins” of their own with whom they can create lasting memories.
Growing up, love and support were constants in our home. My parents were always there for me. They comforted me when I was sick, encouraged me when I was unsure, and cheered me on at every concert or award ceremony. It was from them I learned how to love and how to appreciate the differences in others.
I have always been a sensitive guy, and I feel strongly for others. I think that is why adoption has always been something I have wanted to pursue. However, it wasn’t until I met Matt and felt his love and support that I knew I would be capable of providing a stable home full of love, kindness, and acceptance. And I can’t wait to do just that.
For the first twelve years of my career, I have worked in academia serving as a Director of Law Admissions and Enrollment Marketing. I spent my days counseling prospective students and families on big life decisions. Recently, I transitioned to managing the marketing efforts for the wealth management line of business at a national bank. In my free time, I enjoy exploring nature, diving into the magic of books and movies, and spending quality time with Matt and our puppy, Rosie. I can’t wait to spend my days creating fort adventures, doing arts and crafts, exploring local parks, and watching the magic of exploration come to life for a child.
Stability and close relationships are very important to me. As a young child, I spent a lot of time with my large extended family. I developed my closest friendships with some of my cousins and those relationships are still intact today. I was also very close to my Mom. She was my biggest cheerleader and greatest support. She always made sure I was loved and that I had everything I needed in life.
Sadly, my Mom passed away when I was only twelve years old. Her death impacted both me and my younger sister profoundly. It was around this time that I began to focus more on achieving stability, becoming successful, and supporting myself. I also started helping take care of my sister. While there was no expectation of me to do so, I felt a level of responsibility towards her. Although I was only five years older than her, I took great pride in helping, teaching, and guiding her.
My desire to learn and succeed helped me academically, leading me to college on an academic scholarship. I graduated with degrees in both Accounting and Information Systems. Since then, I’ve worked in auditing and management consulting where I enjoy building relationships with others and helping them succeed.
I am so fortunate to have found Chad and to have such a wonderful husband. We complement each other in the best ways, support each other unconditionally, and align on values and life goals. I’m so proud that we’re at a point in our lives where we are ready to be supportive parents - emotionally, financially, physically, and mentally - and I am truly excited to welcome a child into our home.
Family & Friends Testimonials
"Chad and Matt will be amazing parents! They're both wonderful people and I'm lucky to call them friends. Although we don't get to see them as much as we'd like, since we live 6 hours apart, both of our boys absolutely adore spending time with them. Both Chad and Matt display a warmth and tenderness when they're with our kids that you can’t fake. They genuinely care about our children and their wellbeing and Chad is the godfather of one of our boys. Any child would be getting a wonderful family and home!" - Patrick, Close friend to Chad and Matt
"One of the outstanding qualities Matt and Chad possess is their ability to relate to others. They’re always the first to ask how you are, check-in on that job interview or sick relative, or talk you through a difficult time. My brothers have been there for me through countless struggles and have always helped me to get back on my feet. Their genuine interest in others’ experiences and perspectives have also created strong and meaningful connections with their inner circle and loved ones overall. Not only have they been a crucial piece of my support system, but they have cultivated a community of their own to lean on and support." - Megan, Sister of Matt
"As a couple, Matt and Chad’s super powers are their ability to empathize and always showing up. They are also generous with their time, heart and brains. They are the type of friends who I love seeing at the end of a rough day, week, or month, as they, without judgement, always extend their love and support to make you whole again." - Qorinah, Close friend to Matt and Chad
Our Promise
We promise to love this child unconditionally. To raise them with compassion and kindness and to show them the good in the world. We promise to provide them with a fulfilling life full of opportunities to learn, create, and explore. To give them the freedom to be themselves, discover their passions, and pursue their dreams. We will teach them how to fail with grace, to get up, to learn from their mistakes, and to appreciate others' differences and imperfections. We will protect them to the best of our abilities and surround them with family and friends (furry friends too) who will do the same. To put it simply, we promise to surround them with an abundance of love.
